THE TROPICAL STORM HAS ENTERED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR) AND WAS NAMED "INDAY"
Location of Center (10:00 PM)
The center of the Tropical Storm "INDAY" was estimated based on all available data 1,355 km East of Central Luzon (17.1°N, 134.8°E)
Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa
Present Movement
Southwestward at 10 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong winds or higher extends outwards of up to 310 km from the center
TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNALS IN EFFECT
No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently in effect.
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS
“INDAY” is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country within the forecast period.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
Tropical Storm INDAY may bring moderate to rough seas over the seaboards of Extreme Northern Luzon (1.2 to 4.0 m) during the weekend. These conditions may be risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• Tropical Storm INDAY entered the PAR region at 7:00 PM today.
• The Tropical Storm (TS) is forecast to move generally west northwestward in the next 24 hours. A further northwestward turn may begin on Thursday. Intensification into severe tropical storm is likely in the next 24 hours. Further intensification may occur as the tropical cyclone moves over the Philippine Sea.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
