The Department of Education issues DepEd Memorandum No. 76, s. 2022 or the Instructions on Teacher Hiring for School Year 2022-2023.

In line with the opening of classes for School Year 2022-2023, the schools division offices (SDOs) are expected to ensure that all DepEd schools will have an adequate teacher workforce. Thus, this Memorandum shall provide guidelines in hiring teachers right for the job.

GRADES 1 – 3 SHOULD FOCUS IN MATH AND READING – SENATOR GATCHALIAN Senator Sherwin Gatchalian INSISTED that the quality of education will be strengthened if the curriculum of Grades 1 to 3 is focused on Reading and Mathematics. Gatchalian made the statement in defiance of the earlier recommendation of Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo that the basic needs in education should be focused. According to Gatchalian, “I agree with him that let’s go back to basics.
